OpenStar is built for repo discovery without executing unfamiliar repository code or turning private credentials into product data.
What OpenStar stores
Account identifiers needed for Sign in with Apple and GitHub connection.
Public GitHub profile, public stars, and public repos used to build OpenStar Memory.
Saved repos, watched repos, feedback actions, chat history, watch summaries, and product analytics events.
AI provider settings such as provider, model, base URL, and whether an encrypted key exists.
What stays local
BYOK API keys are encrypted before being stored for server-side agent calls.
OpenStar does not sell AI credits and does not require a server-side model key for the MVP.
OpenStar does not clone, install, or run unfamiliar repository code on your device or server.
GitHub data
GitHub authorization is used to read your public profile, starred repositories, and public repositories. This data powers OpenStar Memory, personalized repo cards, and watch recommendations. You can disconnect GitHub from the Me tab at any time.
Controls
